current riles on halberds?

I heard a rumour from Kelly, so it may not be that reliable, so I'd like confirmation one way or the other.

He said halberds MUST have a spear thrusting tip for safety purposes (as opposed to being allowed to use them but not having the right to thrust with them unless they have a spear tip. I'm sceptical but I'd rather know.

Does anyone know? I looked online at the combat rules and they didn't talk about weapon construction.

the rules for combat were revised last year, I wasn,t aware they made new rules

but Manu says that there is a rule that if you want to trust with the tip of your halebard it must have a tip! So kelly is probably right, but it's not a new rule from this year.

As i said, I'm aware that if you want to thrust you need a tip. That went into effect on mount royal by the end of last year

What Kelly is saying is you need a tip period. Personally I think he misunderstood but better to be sure before someone shows up at bico without one.

Thanks Catherine. I looked at the combat rules on the bico site but they didn't say much about construction of weapons... I'm not sure where I ought to look for that now.

On ne peut pas homologuer une hallebarde, arme d’hast, naginata seulement pour faire des estoc ou seulement pour trancher, les 2 attaques sont obligatoires pour l’arme lors de l’homologation.

-Pointe rembourré avec finition en mousse pour estoc sécuritaire on parle ici de mousse ouverte comme sur les lances

So Kelly is right, the tip needs to be done with foam for piking or it's not legal, if you want to read on it go at the site I just posted on page 14, there are the rules for the hallebards. I just posted the two mentions in the rules that says that it has to be foamed.
